Q. How long will it take to pick up and deliver my car?

A. Most of our auto transport orders are picked up within a week from the time we receive your order and are delivered within 10 – 21 days. Please keep in mind there are a lot of variables that can affect transport, including weather, road conditions, traffic, and other unforeseen factors. While we cannot guarantee a specific time of pickup or delivery, we can guarantee honest communication and we will keep you informed every step of the way about getting your vehicle delivered in the most professional and expedient manner possible. Once we receive your auto transport order, our dispatch team will call and confirm the information and assign your transport. We will provide a reasonable notice for vehicle pickup, and if there happens to be an available auto transport carrier in the immediate area, we will call to see if arrangements can be made to accommodate you sooner. Q. How do I prepare my vehicle for transport?

A. There are a few things you need to do get your car ready to transport. You should wash your vehicle before our driver picks it up. This makes doing a vehicle condition report much easier. . Remove all personal items from your vehicle as we are not liable for anything left in the vehicle during transport. Your vehicle cannot have any obvious fluid leaks; it must have functional brakes, properly-inflated tires, and keys for transport. Repair or seal any tears or open seams on convertible tops to prevent further damage. We also recommend that you leave 1/8 tank of fuel in the vehicle. You or your representative must be present at time of pickup and delivery and are responsible for signing the condition report at both ends. Let us know about any modifications made to your vehicle prior to pickup to make sure there is room available on the auto hauling carrier. Back to top

Q. During auto shipment is my vehicle covered by insurance?

A. Yes, all carriers must be fully insured to meet all State and Federal requirements. Your auto hauler is required by law to carry liability and cargo insurance to cover your vehicle while it is being shipped. J&S Transportation verifies all outside companies have adequate insurance as well as keeping copies of all insurance certificates on file. Back to top

Q. What is an oversized vehicle?

A. Oversized vehicles are crossovers, pickups, SUV’s and vans. These vehicles are more expensive to transport because they weigh substantially more than a car and they take up more room on the auto hauling trailer, reducing the number of vehicles on the load. It is very important to include any vehicle that has dual rear wheels, grill guards, ladder racks, utility boxes, shells, tonneau covers, lift kits (body or altered suspension) and oversized tires. Q. What if my vehicle is not operable?

A. We can still transport your vehicle as long as it has keys, functional brakes and properly-inflated tires. There might be a longer transport time in shipping your vehicle depending on the reason why it no longer runs. Additional charges will occur for non-running vehicles as a tow truck may be needed to load and unload your vehicle. Keep in mind your vehicle will need to be in a safe, secure location where the driver and or tow truck can access it for loading. Back to top

Q. What is door-to-door service?

A. J&S Transportation does door-to-door pickup and delivery service as often as possible, however, our trucks are not allowed in some residential areas. In that instance J&S Transportation and our drivers will arrange a convenient and safe location with you for pickup or delivery of your vehicle.
