Susan Jensen’s daughter’s family vehicle broke down. She and her husband were looking to buy a new vehicle, so they decided to send their 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 to their daughter as a gift. The problem? Susan is in Nampa, Idaho, and her daughter is in Harrogate, Tennessee, and she didn’t really want to make the cross country drive herself. The solution? “The motor went out on my daughter’s family vehicle, and we were looking to buy a different vehicle anyway,” says Susan. “The truck, a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500, was paid off, so we thought we’d give it to her.”
“I looked into driving it out to where they live in Tennessee. So I figured three, four nights in a motel and food, and a plane ticket to get back home was about the same if I had it shipped. I don’t think it was cheaper to ship my car but I do think it was about a wash.”
