Pros & Cons of Auto Transport Brokers vs Auto Hauler Carriers

long distance moving company

After your house, your car is often the second most valuable asset you have. Deciding what auto transportation company to use to ship your vehicle isn’t a decision to take lightly and can be very stressful. Safety, speed, customer service, reliability, and the cost to ship a car are all important factors you have to evaluate when making a decision. As you begin your search, you’ll come across three types of auto transport companies: brokers, carriers, and broker-carriers. Our goal is to help you understand what the differences are among these three types and which one might be best for you. Auto Transport Brokers Brokers are companies or individuals that have access to a large network of carriers. They don’t actually have their own fleet of trucks and as a result they don’t handle the direct shipping of any vehicles. They are the “middleman” between the customer and the carrier. The brokers primary function is to find and vet the best carriers for each customer given their vehicle type and shipping time frame. Another important role they have is to manage, or coordinate, all car shipments on behalf of their customers. When you Google “auto transport companies” or “car shipping companies,” the search results will consist primarily of brokers. Most carriers don’t have websites and those that do aren’t usually great at online marketing, so you rarely find them doing Google searches. That’s important to know because if you begin your search online, you’ll most likely run across brokers and… Read more »

Should I bring my car to college?

Should I Bring My Car to College? When setting off to college, freshmen will have a very long list of items that they “simply must” carry with them on their college journey. This list often includes things like: Cell phones Laptops and an assortment of chargers Fully packed backpacks or suitcases Their coolest clothes Maybe a printer Bedding Their favorite game system (Xbox or PS) New students are usually only interested in bringing a few of the comforts of home to make them less homesick. Bringing a car to college might seem like a given for most college students, however, but is it a good idea? Should you bring your car to college? Well, the answer to that question depends on a number of things! First and foremost, you should be asking yourself the following questions: Does the university I am attending allow new students to bring their cars? Where is my college located? Is there any on-campus transport system in place? Is there a public transport system that makes frequent campus stops? These options are mostly available for those who attend a university in large cities. If you`re attending a smaller institution, there may be a less established local public transport system, or whatever transport system that might exist may have limited operating hours. Pros of Bringing a Car to College While it’s true that bringing your car with you to college has both advantages and disadvantages, it’s the fact that bringing your car with you has the same… Read more »

For a fun, safe and enjoyable road trip, plan your travel effectively. Let the driving factors be based on the following criteria: Your destination Size of the group Type of trip you want to take Type of car you intend to drive Before hitting the road, double check that the vehicle you are going to use is properly maintained and has recently been serviced. Most importantly, check the brakes, tires, wipers, oil, battery, belts, and the transmission fluid.
