Jim Keyes had never needed to ship a car before, but wanted to send a 98 Camaro from Moses Lake, WA to his granddaughter in Cloverdale, CA. While there was a delay in the pickup of the Camaro due to the pickup and delivery being in out-of-the way locations, J&S’s perseverance to get the transport done really impressed the first time auto transport customer. “We never shipped a car before so we had a few concerns going in. You never know who you’re going to get, you know? There are trucking companies all over the United States and some of them are a little marginal,” said Jim. “So, we were a little concerned about it.” “I found J&S off the Internet. I chose J&S because I was trying to find somebody that was an actual transport company and not a broker. I think a company that already has their own trucks or their own business takes a little more responsibility than somebody who’s just dispatching to whoever takes the load. So we felt a little better with that.” “I placed the order probably about a week and a half before it shipped, but it was a tough location to pick up and a tough location to deliver and for a little bit J&S couldn’t find a driver to do it.” “The pickup was in Moses Lake, which is on the I-90 Corridor, but there’s just not a lot of traffic coming over on this side of the going the way… Read more »
Our customers talk about their J&S Transportation auto shipping experiences.
Paul Audia recently bought a 2000 Volkswagen Manx Dune Buggy from a private seller in Las Vegas, NV, and needed to get it to his place in Menifee, CA. He’d heard the usual horror stories that abound about auto transport companies, so he was a little nervous about shipping his car. After finding us on the internet and speaking to our dispatch office, his fears were allayed. Our customer service, communication and prompt delivery took care of the rest. “Well, I was kind of nervous about these companies. I hadn’t shipped cars before but you hear horror stories,” said Paul. “My older brother, he’s since passed away, had a couple of cars shipped. I don’t know who he used, but he had a couple of problems. So, of course, I was a little bit apprehensive about it. My little brother has shipped a lot of cars in the past, too, but he had never used J&S.” “I found J&S on the internet. I read a little bit about them and what their goals were and the company’s dedication to customer service. Sure, everybody sells that, but J&S seemed more professional, and everything that they said in their website, and the concerns for the other person’s property, convinced me to at least get a quote.” “The price that J&S quoted me was more than accommodating, it was great. It would’ve cost me more to drive there and back in gas than what they charged to pick up the car and drop… Read more »
Dave Galli bought a 1984 Lincoln Mark VII from a small dealership in Boise, ID, and needed to have it shipped to him in San Jose, CA. His previous experiences with car shippers were bad, but a personal recommendation from the seller led him to give J&S a shot at delivering his car. “My previous car shipping experiences were bad, and I think the reason, and the lesson I learned, was that they were brokered. They most likely went to the lowest bidder, and you get what you pay for,” says Dave. “The fact that J&S were an actual transporter absolutely weighed in my decision. Plus, they came with a strong recommendation from the seller.” “We purchased the car on eBay from a small dealer, Legacy Auto, in Boise that moves a few cars a month. He’s uses J&S on a regular basis, and is happy with them, and recommended them. And now, I too, am happy with them.” “J&S gave me a quote that was mid-range, in terms of their competitors, and it made it feasible to override the bidding process. I think going with a firm that is dedicated to car transport and dealing directly with the client instead of getting their assignments through a broker made a big difference.” “They worked with me, but, more importantly, my car was delivered when it was promised. The driver could not have been more attentive.” “The pickup and delivery were right on schedule. The car arrived in extremely good condition,… Read more »
Frances McGowan needed a 2000 Toyota Camry shipped from Hillsboro, OR, to Ontario, OR. A recent bad auto shipping experience caused her to find a different company to try this time. When she found J&S she found our prices to be reasonable and our communication and customer service to be excellent. “We shipped cars a couple of times in the past with other companies” says Frances. “The first time was I’d say average. The price was fair. It was to Texas, and was better than I thought.” “My son had a car shipped just recently and that was a freaking nightmare. When the driver showed up to deliver the car he wanted more money than they had already paid them. It was paid in full, and they wanted more before they’d take it off the truck. We didn’t pay more, of course. Also, it took them over a month to get my sons’ car picked up after the company told him a date. They had already moved by then, and they didn’t have a car for over a month. So, that experience was terrible. But this time, working with J&S, was very, very good.” “We replaced our son’s car in Portland and said, ‘We’ll bring yours down here and keep it here,’ but it wasn’t safe enough to drive, because we didn’t know if it was going to quit running on us, so we decided to have it shipped.” “A friend gave me the name of a company, because he… Read more »
Matt Plouffe had never shipped a car before, and was a bit skeptical of the vehicle hauling industry as a whole, given the less than stellar reputation it has garnered thanks to less than reputable companies out there. So when he needed his 2007 BMW 328 shipped from Kent, WA, to Alpharetta, GA, a co-workers’ recommendation led him to J&S. Despite a glitch in the pickup of his vehicle, our communication and customer service won him over. “I never shipped a car before. It seems like auto transport business in general is more of shady business than legit, “said Matt. “My main concern was whether my car, a 2007 BMW 328, would make it here or not. I needed to get it to Alpharetta, GA, from Kent, WA. Somebody I work with recommended J&S so I decided to use them to ship the car.” I’ve never worked with anybody to ship a car before but just from the nature of the business, I think it went pretty well. J&S was a little bit more expensive than some other companies but I think I got what I paid for. “The only pain was the pickup of the car. Dispatch said it was going to be picked up on Friday so I blocked out a chunk of time. Then I had somebody call me saying, “They can’t pick it up Friday.” We had to change plans. It got picked up on Monday but I had already flown out so I had to… Read more »
Shon Hasselman bought a 1976 Ford Bronco and needed it moved from Bountiful, Utah, to Kalispell, Montana. Having no auto transport experience, a recommendation from his wife’s uncle led him to J&S. Our customer service took over from there. “I bought a 1976 Ford Bronco from a lady in Utah. It was her late husband’s Bronco and she didn’t want to drive it anymore,” said Shon. “I’ve never had a vehicle transported before. I got online, and there are just so many companies and so many things pop up that it I didn’t even know which one to pick.” “My wife’s uncle is a dispatcher for another trucking company that hauls freight, so I called him and he recommended J&S. He said that’s who they recommend to everybody. They have dealt with J&S in the past and everybody they know that has done business with them likes them, so that’s who he recommended.” “I was real nervous just because, like I said, I’ve never shipped a truck before, but everything turned out great. The Bronco had a soft top side inside. I was worried about it getting lost, worried about damage to the vehicle, which I wouldn’t know if it was there before or not, because I didn’t get to see it before I bought it, other than pictures, but pictures never do anything justice.” “The dispatchers I talked to were really nice, and then the driver was really nice. Their professionalism made me not worry about it too much,… Read more »
Julie Taylor of Billings, MT, was getting ready to send her daughter off to college in Arizona and wanted her to have her 2006 Mini Cooper. Her brother had previously shipped a car with J&S, so she decided to give us a chance. There were some time constraints on the delivery of the Mini Cooper, but J&S more than accommodated Julie’s time frame. But let her tell you about it: “We were taking our daughter to school at Arizona State and she was taking her car with her, but we wanted to have it shipped down there instead of driving it,” said Julie. “My brother had used J&S to send his son’s car to Minnesota when he went off to college, and that’s how I first figured out that we didn’t have to drive it all the way down there if we didn’t want to. His referral is what led us to J&S.” “I was concerned about the car getting there before we arrived because we were flying in, but I also wanted to have it in her hands before we left to come back home, so I was putting constraints on both sides of the equation.” “I went online and when I said I wanted to do this and then waited for a call back. The J&S website was easy to use. Literally, after I pushed ‘Enter,’ a couple of hours later J&S called, and I was actually talking to a real person.” “This was maybe five weeks before… Read more »
James Gall of Spokane, WA, needed to transport the 1998 Ford F-250 he bought from the seller in Oakville, WA, to his home. An internet for auto movers search led him to J&S and our service took care of the rest. “I bought a truck and needed it moved to me in Spokane from where I bought it in Oakville, WA. I didn’t have any car shipping experience,” said James, “so I Google searched ‘auto shipping’ and got a few quotes. My main concern was price and the J&S quote was lower than the competitors.” “I went to the J&S site and got a quote. I promptly got an email contact and then a phone call from you guys. They were easy to deal with. They were pros.” “They said they had a truck pretty close to where the truck was located. It ended up being picked up and delivered here the next day. It was pretty timely. It was literally picked up one day and delivered the next.” I would recommend J&S because they did what they said they were going to do and in my opinion, that is what matters the most. Thanks for the compliment, James. We pride ourselves on our ability to follow through on what we tell our customers.
Michele Kanauth’s son, Spc. Mark Fruge is stationed in Afghanistan. While serving overseas he recently purchased a car and needed it shipped from Peach Tree, GA, to his parents’ house in Navarre, FL. Since Mark was out of the country, he set up the entire transport of his 2001 BMW 530 on our website, but his parents dealt with intricacies of the interstate car transport themselves. Despite the difficulty in coordinating an order from multiple time zones away, the transport went without a hitch. Let Michele tell you about her experience working with J&S: “My son, Spc. Mark Fruge, is stationed in Afghanistan and bought a car, a 2001 BMW 530, and needed it shipped from Peach Tree, GA, to us here in Navarre. FL,” said Michele. “He did an online search and found you guys and booked the transport of his car. He made all the arrangements for everything, where to have it picked up, where to have it delivered to, he took care of all that on the computer.” “For my own piece of mind I wanted to make sure that after the transfer was made and Mark paid for the car it was ok sure with the seller, Ryan, and his parents to keep the car with them was until the transport company came and picked it up. Ryan was like, ‘Not a problem, my parents say everything’s fine, the car can stay here until they get there to pick it up.’ I spoke with a gentleman… Read more »
Sue Bickford needed to ship her 2009 Volvo S40 from Portland, OR, to Auburn AL. A few weeks back we shipped a car for Sue’s daughter Roseanne from Oregon to Alabama. So when it came time to ship Sue’s car, the decision was an easy one to make. “I needed to get my car, a 2009 Volvo S40, from Portland, OR, to Auburn, AL. I had not shipped a car before and my concerns were, you know, having my car shipped safely and in a reasonable amount of time,” said Sue. “I did some research online along with my daughter Roseanne. She shipped a Porsche a few weeks ago from Portland to Enterprise, Alabama. We looked at a few carriers and decided to go with J&S. They seemed like a reputable company and we figured we would go with them.” “My daughter Roseanne had a good experience shipping her car with J&S. She was happy and I felt perfectly comfortable going you guys to ship my car, and actually it shipped in less time than I had expected.” “The driver picked it up on Monday and told me it would be here probably by Saturday, which I thought was maybe a little unrealistic. When Saturday came, Gary gave me call and said the car would be here by Tuesday which was fine. I was very pleased. He picked it up at my door and delivered it to my door.” “When I made the original arrangements I did not realize that… Read more »
